| Our home |
We were extremely lucky to find a wonderful little cottage style home in Kailua. The home is located in an area called Aikahi Park. It is on the Windward side of the island about 30 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. The town of Kailua is a small and laid-back beach town. Our home is very close to base and within walking distance to the beach. Paul has a commute of about 5 minutes and there is never any traffic. Living here has been much of a culture shock compared to where we are coming from in the DC metro. We all have had to change our pace a little to adjust. The term "Hawaiian Time" is true! Everyone here is laid-back and you learn to relax, experience the natural beauty of the islands that surrounds you, and an inner sense of peace.
